What is Elder Law?

Elder law attorneys are often thought of as simply Medicaid attorneys or crisis planners, when in reality the scope of elder law is much broader.  Attorneys who work in this area of law serve the elderly and disabled, as well as helping younger clients plan for those later years in life.  Some common practice areas that are included under the umbrella of “elder law” include:
  • Medicaid planning
  • Veterans benefits
  • Special needs planning
  • Guardianship and Conservatorship
  • Estate planning (basic)
  • Elder Abuse
  • Nursing Home Negligence
  • Social Security Disability
  • Medicare Appeals
  • Medicaid Litigation
